Melanie Hankins Booth, Certified Specialist of Wine by the Society of Wine Educators, is a wine educator and certified Wine Cellar Manager and Sommelier by the International Wine and Spirits Guild.

Along with teaching the Mississippi State University Continuing Education Personal Enrichment Classes (online courses are coming soon - Fall 2024) and Wine Appreciation at MUW’s Culinary Arts Institute, she also teaches private classes and hosts private, corporate and civic events. Melanie works with local restaurants and wine retailers while enjoying wedding wine event planning, basic consulting for wineries, and hosting fun wine events for book clubs, garden clubs, “girls’ nights”, etc. She has also taught an online seminar for the University of Southern Mississippi’s, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).

In Wine – The Experience, she uses her gift of hospitality to teach students that appreciating wine is not just about drinking wine.  It is about understanding and experiencing wine. She has a special skill and appreciation for wine and food pairing. Leading fun and educational wine tours and agri-tourism trips, she teaches how to receive other’s hospitality while learning from renown winemakers and industry professionals. Taking small groups of 12 guests to wine regions, she offers VIP, behind the scenes, all inclusive 4 day trips.

Each toast is led with “Here’s to Being Here” supporting Melanie’s belief that moments pass quickly and too often we neglect being in them.

Melanie is continuing her education to attain the Certified Wine Educator (CWE) certification from SWE, and enjoys formal and experiential training while networking in wine regions across the country - especially CA, Texas, North Georgia, Arkansas, and the Pacific Northwest.
